Party Wall Surveying

To assist our clients in the implementation of The Party Wall etc Act 1996, we can offer the following services:

  • Initial appraisal of schemes to determine if The Act applies
  • The preparation and issue of relevant Party Wall Notices under The Act
  • Assessment and offering advice in respect of the resolution of Party Wall disputes
  • Expertise to ensure that Building Owners and Adjoining Owners can meet their legal obligations
  • Assist with the resolution of boundary disputes and boundary identifications

Dilapidations and Wants of Repair

As part of our service offering we carry out inspections on commercial and industrial buildings to advise Clients where there are failures by the Landlord or Tenant to comply with their legal obligations to repair, decorate or reinstate alterations in accordance with the terms of the lease. This could be at the start of the lease to record any pre-existing defects through the preparation and agreement of a Schedule of Condition, during the term of the Lease as part of an Interim Schedules of Dilapidations or at the end of the Lease term via a Terminal Schedule of Dilapidations.


We can also provide dilapidation assessment reports as part of financial planning or company acquisitions.

Building and Pre-Acquisition Survey

An Acquisition Survey would provide guidance if you are considering the purchase or occupation of a property. Our reports provide clear advice in respect of the general current condition of the property under consideration. We also give guidance on prioritising repair works identified during the survey and can provide budget cost estimates where required. In addition, we can aid with any proposed alterations, refurbishment and fit out works.


Our commercial building surveys are specifically tailored to suit each individual client. This could range from the comprehensive inspection of whole buildings, incorporating specialist survey advice as required, to the analysis of a specific defects, Defect Analysis.

Repair & Maintenance

All buildings require maintenance and repair over time. We act for and on behalf of property owners and occupiers in assessing and setting up Property Maintenance Programmes. This would include inspecting and diagnosing defects, obtaining quotations and tenders, arranging and monitoring works and making recommendations for payment on completion. We also provide comprehensive Design and Project Management services for customers considering more extensive repairs and alterations.

Refurbishment Works

Utilising the latest techniques and technology, our team of Surveyors provide a complete range of Building Surveying skills to develop a client brief and prepare proposals to achieve compliance with this.


In-house CAD designers are available to produce plans and specifications for repair works, new build projects and property extensions.


Following agreement of the proposed works we would obtain competitive tenders and report on findings to the client and then proceed to administer contract works on site through to practical completion and end of defects liability period.

Fund and Financial Project Monitoring

Project Monitoring is distinct from both Project Management and Construction Monitoring, and extends to protecting the Client’s interests by identifying and advising on the risks associated with acquiring an interest in a development that is not under the Client’s direct control.


We undertake Project Monitoring on behalf of a range of alternative Client types including Funding Institution, a Tenant or Purchaser of property, a Bank or other Development Finance Companies and Private Finance Initiative funders & End Users.


Our role is to monitor the progress of development schemes and report independently to Funders and Financiers on the progress of the works through their initial development to practical completion of the works on site.
