Swan Environmental Services were commissioned by the client to provide Design and CQA services for the installation of 6 Retro-Drilled Leachate wells at their site.
The works comprised:
-CQA supervision of the drilling of the Retro-drilled leachate wells using a rotary barrel auger to the depths specified in the CQA Plan and Engineering Specification
-CQA supervision of incremental drilling when approaching landfill cell base levels to prevent compromising the underlying lining system
-Depth measurement of borehole to ensure compliance with the CQA Plan and Engineering Specification
-CQA supervision of the installation of 244mm steel pipework, gravel pack and bentonite seals at each drilling location
Swan provided a full time CQA Engineer to oversee all aspects of the works, under the guidance of a visiting project manager, and act as a contact between Client, Contractors and the Environment Agency.
