Contaminated Land Remediation of a disused Petroleum storage and distribution centre.

A Phase 1 desk study and Phase 2 site investigation utilising trial pits and boreholes was carried out by Swan Environmental to assess the levels, areas and types of contamination present. This was followed up with a Remediation Plan for implementing the contaminated land clean up.

1 — Planning

Swan Environmental Services provided an engineer with experience in hydrocarbon identification to oversee and advise on all the sediments being extracted, allowing segregation of contaminated deposits and providing great cost savings to the client. A Project Manager was also provided to liaise with the client and advise on the best remediation strategy to stay with in local council planning permission and Environment Agency legislation.

2 — Cornerstone

Swan Environmental provided all the initial investigation reports to the client with a remediation verification report once the job was complete. The client was provided with regular updates on the progress and findings. The Swan Geologist also provided the client with site walkovers and explanations of remediation strategy during site visits.
